To this end, she uses stream of consciousness techniques, especially indirect interior monologue, to record the fear of death and the anguish of existence, tensions responsible for the great revelations in To the Lighthouse, brought to the reader through the use of memories and reflections. Therefore, the novel follows the path of the characters' memories reflected in the absence of temporal linearity. The use of intertextuality helps to emphasize the recurrence of memory, since intertexts from different periods and literary genres echo the literary tradition, greatly expanding and enriching the meaning of the novel.
