Dissatisfied with married life and her lowly position, Catherine begins plotting to save Russia by assuming power in a violent coup and leading a progressive agenda as empress.In this season, it's been four months since the coup began and Catherine and Peter's forces are at a stalemate. Peter finally surrenders and agrees to transfer power to Catherine, though he has a plan to retake the country.
