Sixteen-year-old Billy Duncan is angry at the world, and the city streets that echo with sirens, and the endless arguments with his exhausted single mother, who is doing her best but can't seem to reach him anymore. When Billy's Summer takes a turn for the worse, his mother decides to take her son up to Lake Winnipesaukee, in New Hampshire to spend some time with his distant brother, Patrick.Patrick begins to show his nephew a different way to live. Billy begins to feel the steadiness of the land and the stillness of the lake healing his broken life. As he leans into the wild heart of nature, his anger loosens.
