THE HEATHER AND THE ROSE GARDENS is the very latest collection of poetry gathered over the years by the celebrated Dorset poet, author, and historian Raymond Wills. It includes Ray's work, which was, in recent years, commissioned by the Arts council at the Dorset Festival in Bere Regis. Ray is regularly invited to give talks and poetry readings for East Dorset Family Historical Society, held at Wimborne Museum, as well as Oxfam book events Poole, and numerous libraries and community halls throughout the Dorset region. This present collection in the main consists of Ray's contemporary poetry as well as his popular folk and Gypsy poems. Ray was a former member and researcher for the GRT group Kushti Bok. The present work contains lots of new material as well as popular old favourites. Within the work you will discover the influences of the master poets such as Hardy, Barnes, Tennyson, and Keats, as well as Whitman and Dylan. Hear the romanticism, history and humourous ditties. There are poems for all ages and interests. Enjoy the ride.
