Bol Some inheritances are more than just property. Some inheritances are curses. After a fifteen-year absence, Elena Mendoza returns to the town she left as a child. The death of her Aunt Carmela has made her the sole heir to the family mansion, a gray stone house that stands at the edge of the forest like a sleeping creature. But the house is not empty. >Now, as the last of her line, Elena must choose: renew the pact and condemn herself to a life of servitude like her aunt, or break the chains of centuries of family tradition and risk unleashing an incomprehensible horror upon the world. As night falls and the locks begin to open one by one, Elena is confronted with terrifying visions, presences lurking in the shadows, and truths about her family she would have preferred to remain ignorant of. With the help of Felipe, a paranormal investigator who knows the secrets of her lineage, she discovers that a counter-ritual exists: a way to seal the Silent One away forever. But the ritual requires a sacrifice. And time is running out.
