The House that Wasn't There: Finding Home

What does "home" really mean? For one young girl, it was never a place she could count on.Moving from state to state, living out of a car, and taking on responsibilities far beyond her years, she learned early how to adapt, survive, and care for others-even when there was no one there to care for her.But in the midst of constant change, there were moments that stayed with her: a farmhouse in Minnesota, the quiet presence of people who showed kindness, and the deep connection she found with the animals she loved. The House That Wasn't There: Finding Home is a deeply personal memoir about growing up in uncertainty, searching for belonging, and discovering that home is not always a place-it's something you carry with you.Through resilience, love, loss, and hard-earned understanding, Christy Kuehn shares a story of survival, strength, and ultimately, gratitude for the life that shaped her.
