An in-depth analysis of household financial insecurity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) highlights the extent of its impact on the country's economic development. Poverty, in its many forms, is not limited to a simple lack of income; it is rooted in structural failures that affect institutions, growth opportunities, and citizens' ability to contribute to the national economy. Among the key factors exacerbating this crisis, we have identified ineffective governance, poor wealth redistribution, corruption, a lack of investment in essential infrastructure, and a failing education system. These elements form a vicious cycle that perpetuates the economic and social vulnerability of Congolese households. Education and health-fundamental pillars of human development-remain largely underfunded, limiting citizens' ability to lift themselves out of poverty. The lack of modern infrastructure and an effective social protection system exacerbates this situation, reinforcing inequalities and the marginalization of a large portion of the population.
