A timeless legend from the Italian Dolomites, brought to life in a beautifully illustrated story for children and families. High in the Dolomites lived Sorapis, a giant king with a heart too soft to say no to his little daughter, Misurina. She asked. He said yes.A flower high on the mountain? Yes. To see the sunrise before everyone else? Yes. A real dinosaur? He would find a way to try.Misurina soon learned that two tears could get her almost anything she wanted. Then one day, she heard about a silver mirror kept by the Queen of Monte Cristallo: a mirror said to reveal the thoughts of anyone who looked into it.Misurina wanted it.And Sorapis, as always, said yes.Their journey takes them high into the Dolomites, past eagles, marmots, ancient dinosaur footprints and a hidden garden where a mysterious queen is waiting. But the mirror comes at a price, one that will change the fate of father and daughter forever. From the ancient oral tradition of Cadore comes a beautifully illustrated retelling of the legend of Lake Misurina: a story of childhood desire, a father's love, loss and the mountains that remember.A moving read-aloud for children ages 6-8, perfect for families who love folklore, nature, legends, and stories rooted in real places.
