Elara is born under a terrifying omen when every star above the kingdom of Asteria turns crimson, revealing that she is the long-awaited Starborn descendant of the first Star Queen. An ancient prophecy foretells that Elara possesses the power to awaken the legendary Kingdom of Crimson Stars, but doing so will also awaken an ancient darkness buried beneath the kingdom. When a mysterious black-armored warrior attacks the palace and demands the newborn princess, Queen Amara flees with Elara and the royal astrologer to the hidden Star Vault, where the Crown of Crimson Stars chooses Elara and confirms her destiny. As her powers awaken, a massive ancient presence stirs beneath the palace, golden eyes open in the darkness, and the Crimson Kingdom rises from its centuries-long sleep. With the mysterious enemy still pursuing them and the kingdom thrown into chaos, Elara's parents must protect her while discovering whether she will ultimately bring the kingdom back in light-or unleash it into darkness.
