The Lantern House: a Cozy LitRPG Novel of Illusion Magic, Mischievous Otter, Found Family, and Theater Worth Saving

Wystan Aldred spent a decade performing real illusion magic for Harrowgate's finest, and every time, they called it a novelty act. When Candlewick's long-dark Lantern House goes up for sale, disgraced and half ruined, he buys it anyway: the one stage in the city where he might finally work for people who actually see him, and where he won't have to do it alone. He isn't alone, whether he admits it yet or not. A dry caretaker who won't say why he stayed. A mischievous otter familiar with strong opinions about fanfare. And a magic system that only rewards him when the joy behind it is real, which makes an empty house the easiest room in Harrowgate to lie to.Word is traveling that Candlewick's disgraced old stage is relighting. Somewhere in Harrowgate, someone remembers exactly why it went dark, and they aren't glad to hear it.Perfect for fans of Travis Baldree, T. Kingfisher, and J.M. Clarke, The Lantern House is a cozy LitRPG novel of illusion magic, a mischievous otter, found family, and a theater worth saving.
