The Last Night at Blackthorne

Twelve walk the road. >Twelve years ago, Lydia Vale vanished from Blackthorne on Halloween night. Isobel Arden was the last person to see her. She left the estate with blood on her hand-and one secret she never told the police. Now Isobel is back. Her aunt is dead. Blackthorne belongs to her. And all she wants is to inventory the cliffside mansion, settle the estate, and leave Harrow Bay before its oldest Halloween tradition begins again. Then Lydia's missing silver hair clip appears on a pillow. Wet footprints lead to a wall. A photograph appears inside a locked bedroom. And someone is moving through passages that do not exist on Blackthorne's plans. Someone who knows what happened twelve years ago. Someone who knows what Isobel remembers. Architect Adrian Vale has spent twelve years searching for his sister-and wondering what Isobel concealed the night Lydia disappeared. Now they have no choice but to work together. What they uncover is darker than either expected: falsified records, hidden photographs, another woman who vanished from Blackthorne years before Lydia, and a sealed chamber beneath the house where the Atlantic tide still reaches. But Blackthorne is not the only danger. Because the closer Isobel and Adrian come to the truth, the harder it becomes to ignore the attraction they never truly escaped. And Halloween is getting closer. Soon Harrow Bay will fill with hooded lanterns, black masks, and the twelve Stags of the Black Stag Court. Hundreds of faces will disappear behind identical masks. One of them belongs to someone determined to keep Blackthorne's secrets buried. Isobel and Adrian have until midnight to uncover the truth. Before another woman disappears. Before the thirteenth mask slips into the crowd. Before Blackthorne closes its doors again. Some doors were sealed for a reason. >This Halloween, Blackthorne opens.
