The Last of Ashgrave's Line

Ashgrave has not eaten in six days.Fifteen-year-old Mira inherited the dragon from her grandmother, along with a secret she doesn't understand and a grief neither of them knows how to carry. When a Crown agent arrives demanding the grieving dragon be surrendered for "observation," Mira does the only thing she can think to do: she runs. What she finds, fleeing north along a coastline she's never seen, is bigger and older than anything she imagined - a truth the Crown has spent four generations making sure no one ever uncovered. The fear that's haunted dragon-keeper families like her own was never about protecting anyone from anything. It was about hiding an inconvenient discovery, and the four generations of persecution that came after it never needed a real justification at all.Now Mira has to decide whether surviving is enough, or whether she owes the truth to every family who's carried this same silence longer than she's been alive - even if telling it means standing alone in front of a Crown council built to make her doubt every word.A story about grief, inheritance, and the quiet, terrifying courage it takes to simply tell the truth out loud, The Last of Ashgrave's Line is the first book in the Ashgrave's Line series.
