For generations, a secret line of sentinels has guarded a sacred covenant with the earth, waiting for the coming of the encroaching Dragon. The Black Snake that will consume the globe if given the chance. Enter John Farmer. Cursed with luck, fortune, and flesh as impenetrable as the Kansas bedrock, John tries to escape his family's isolated legacy by marching into the meat grinder of war. But as a shadowy intelligence agency weaponizes his biology, and the Dragon's vanguard marches, John realizes he cannot outrun his bloodline. To save the mortal brothers he fights beside, he must become the ultimate wall. Fates are realized. Legacies established. Sacrifices made. Because in John's universe, the worth of any deed is measured strictly by how much it costs you to accomplish it.
