The Librarian's Assistant - Sealed Tales: Book One: Little Match Girl

Eleanor Williams has always believed books are meant to be read-not entered.Working beneath the watchful eye of Bellweather Library's mysterious Head Librarian, Eleanor spends her days surrounded by forgotten manuscripts, rare editions, and stories safely contained between their covers. Then an unusual collection arrives in the library archives. An ancient leather-bound volume. No title. No record of where it came from. And inside, a collection of familiar fairy tales-each one sealed. When Eleanor removes her archival gloves to examine the fragile seal above The Little Match Girl, one accidental touch changes everything.Suddenly, Eleanor is no longer standing in the library. She is barefoot in the snow.Matches tremble in her small hands. Hunger twists her stomach. Strangers hurry past without seeing her.And Eleanor knows exactly how this story is supposed to end.She also knows she refuses to let it.Armed only with her memories of the original tale and the determination to survive, Eleanor searches for another ending. But changing a story may prove far more complicated than escaping its final page-and the mysterious book may have chosen Eleanor for reasons neither she nor the Head Librarian fully understands. When Eleanor finally returns home, she discovers something else: A fairy tale does not stop changing you simply because you've closed the book. The Little Match Girl begins The Librarian's Assistant: The Sealed Tales, an enchanting new series of mystery, magic, forgotten stories, and second chances-where one librarian's assistant discovers that some endings were never meant to remain written in stone.
