Bol People spend more than half of their 'awake' lives working and tend to fall into one of two groups: those who find joy and meaning in their work, and those who view work merely as a means of earning a living and therefore feel less happy. Furthermore, the path of career development usually presents challenges and can therefore hinder one's sense of happiness. This book therefore addresses the question: 'What factors influence employees' sense of happiness in relation to their career development?'. To answer this question, a bridge was built between the findings of the literature and their application in everyday working life. To this end, three managers from different departments of the Austrian National Tourist Office and one or two employees from each department were interviewed. The results showed that, in addition to the manager's leadership behaviour, the working atmosphere, as well as the employees' intrinsic motivation and initiative, also have an influence. This demonstrates that there are different approaches to influencing employees' sense of happiness.
