The Lonely Assassin

Pellendell the young magician leaves his homeland, the archipelago of Nemeador, and goes to the mainland and to the capital of the huge Empire to begin his search for the lost wizard's staff of Thellis, the last great wizard of his homeland. There he meets and befriends a handful of treasure hunters including, Karnforth a burly and taciturn fighter from the wild north and Jarle, a half-elf from the woodlands of Furlistor-Marserden. Together, drawn by tales of lost treasure buried in a dungeon below an abandoned and derelict castle, they journey to one of the remote, far-flung western isles. It is there that they meet the enigmatic Linet, a young woman with a shadowy past, who persuades them to allow her to join them in their perilous quest.
