The Music of Ïlmatal

Dàrnet is a young and erudite bard from the city of Afènaril, who has always been fascinated by the culture and mysteries of the Fèrathim (the White Wizards of the Continent of Edelëas). During a rainy November evening, after learning of strange and alarming movements that were taking place far to the north in the land of Ùzuthur, he makes the acquaintance of the mysterious wizard Mèrivot in an inn. Having befriended the latter, intrigued by his constant movements, Dàrnet offers himself one day as his traveling companion. On the way to the mountainous village of Iànual, Mèrivot and Dàrnet begin to talk about more and less, and the bard, slowly, is initiated by the wizard into a Great Mystery that, although known to all, few Men have had the privilege of contemplating to the full.
