The Neighborhood Serial Killer

This is a story about a neighborhood serial killer, but not in the way you might expect. The murders are real. The bodies pile up. The investigation proceeds with all the competence of a raccoon trying to open a locked cooler. But the truth is not in the places you would normally look. It is not in the alibis. It is not in the evidence. It is not even in the glowing blue lips that mark every victim like a signature. Everyone in this story is a suspect at some point. The realtor couple, who would sell their mother for a listing. The plastic surgeon, who gave his wife a new face but couldn't give her a reason to stay. The opera singer, who died in her most dramatic performance. The politician, who campaigned until the very end. Even the gardener, whose only crime was being too polite to refuse a gift. And Stella? Stella is the lovely old woman next door. You know her. She's the one who waves every morning, remembers nothing, and bakes cookies. A dark comedy novel.
