Follow Pee-Bee and Prudence as they navigate a society in turmoil, seventy years in the future, which will leave them exposed to serious danger. But Clean, an emerging populist party, and the Euphoria Church are challenging the status quo, triggering civil unrest across the nation. In London, rival gangs battle to secure their territory. Pee-Bee is drawn into the turmoil when, having witnessed a failed terrorist attack, he has to go into hiding for his own protection. That means, once again and against his better judgment, calling on Melchizedek for advice and direction. As before, Pee-Bee finds himself confronting Sir Roderick Nugent and Dr Calveyrac but the struggle ahead is of a different order to anything he has faced before. Instinct tells him his first responsibility is to himself. However, there are others who need rescuing, including a young boy with an extraordinary claim on Pee-Bee.
