The Newlyweds of Hawthorne: A Classic Comedy Love Story

The wedding was the easy part. Now Eleanor and Julian have to survive marriage.Three months after becoming Mrs. Julian Hartley, Eleanor discovers that married life in Hawthorne is every bit as complicated-and entertaining-as courtship.Julian likes order. Eleanor likes improving things that Julian insists do not need improvement. Soon they are arguing over newspapers, furniture, open windows, blankets, curtains, family visits, dinner parties, money, and almost everything else two stubborn people can possibly disagree about.Their troubles become even more entertaining when Eleanor's mother arrives to "help," Hawthorne's favourite gossips begin watching the newlyweds closely, and an innocent moment of dizziness produces one of the town's most ridiculous rumours.Meanwhile, Sophia Fairchild has returned to Hawthorne determined not to fall in love. Then she meets the quiet and intelligent Nathaniel Vale. Between misunderstandings, jealousy, Captain Langford's unfortunate timing, and Eleanor's enthusiastic matchmaking, Sophia soon discovers that avoiding love may be considerably harder than expected.Beneath all the laughter, Eleanor and Julian begin learning what marriage truly requires-not perfection, but patience, honesty, forgiveness, and the willingness to return to one another after pride and misunderstanding get in the way.Warm, witty, clean, and filled with comic domestic battles, meddling relatives, social gossip, friendship, and old-fashioned romance, The Newlyweds of Hawthorne continues the story that began with an accidentally taken umbrella.Marriage may have ended the courtship, but in Hawthorne, the comedy has only just begun.Book Two of The Hawthorne Romances.
