"Sybil Fulk was born Sybil Irene Fox----" The Open Window of My Heart reflects the healing, growth, and faith of the author. Knowing early in life that it was her gift and desire to share with others her healing journey, the author continued to write poetry throughout the years. Despite the challenge of abuse, stuttering, and constant ridicule during that period of her life, she learned to become numb to everything and she remained there until the age of seventeen. Poetry had become her life and means of survival. God has been a big part of her healing journey and al-though there had been several times that she considered giving up, in the deepest part of her heart, she still be-lieved in the existence of the Lord. After living in New Jersey, and then Virginia, Sybil Fulk settled in her perma-nent home in Oregon, where she now resides.
