The Pajama Game

Doris Day's remarkable film career spanned twenty years between 1948 to 1968, with "The Pajama Game" coming out in 1957. This film is a real delight to watch, with wonderful musical numbers, some of which are now identified with the musical and movie icon. This film is also interesting because it appears in Day's cinematic repertoire at the point when soon thereafter she would be identified as the bright and beautiful "girl next door" in a series of classic comedies, including "Teacher's Pet" with Clark Gable, "Pillow Talk" with Rock Hudson, "That Touch of Mink" with Cary Grant and "The Thrill of it All" with James Garner. Doris Day is one of the brightest lights in filmdom, in movies that included comedies, dramas and musicals; the light cast by the world of cinema would have been much dimmer if her presence had not graced the silver screen.
