The People vs. Larry Flynt,Larry Flynt (Woody Harrelson-Natural Born Killers, Money Train) is an ordinary kid who becomes the publisher of the porn magazine Hustler in the early 1970s. Flynt goes very far with the publication of nude photos and in his columns he makes fun of the established order. When he accuses a popular TV pastor of lewd acts with his mother, he is taken to court. There Flynt shows himself to be a true rebel who takes 'freedom of speech' in the prudish Amerka very literally. He ends up in jail, nearly succumbs to drugs, is shot at by a sniper, leaving him in a wheelchair and loses his wife (Courtney Love) to AIDS. Even now, a quarter of a century later, Larry Flynt still stirs up controversy: the original advertising campaign for this film was, among other things, banned in the Netherlands by the Advertising Code Committee because it would be 'unnecessarily offensive'... The People Vs. Larry Flynt is the true story of a man who valued free speech over the millions he made.
