Inspired by true historical events and set in the years before and during the Second World War (1937-1945), The Playhouse is the story of two friends, Gabriel and Ahmed, a French-Algerian and a native-Algerian, who grow up in Algiers in an atmosphere of political unrest and cultural awakening. Due to tragic events, the two friends leave Algiers for Paris just as the Second World War breaks out.
