Wat is een lichttafel? Een lichttafel is in feite een handig hulpmiddel voor het tekenen. Het helpt u bij het verder ontwikkelen van uw tekeningen, van de eerste schets tot de uiteindelijke, perfecte tekening. Het principe is heel eenvoudig. Eerst wordt de bestaande tekening op een glazen plaat gelegd. Vervolgens wordt er een vel papier bovenop geplaatst. Door een lichtbron van onderen is het mogelijk om de tekening over te brengen op het nieuwe vel papier. Tegelijkertijd kunnen eventuele fouten in de eerste schets worden gecorrigeerd. Dit proces wordt herhaald totdat de perfecte tekening is ontstaan. Uiteindelijk wordt de uiteindelijke tekening meestal met een fineliner of inkt overgetrokken.
