The aim of this article is to determine how teacher stress relates to the emotional climate in the classroom at a national university. The rationale for the study is that teaching is a profession that poses challenges to emotional health, as teachers experience high levels of work-related stress, which leads to symptoms such as anxiety, depression and burnout; This stress affects teachers' mental health, impacting not only their own well-being but also the quality of education and students' performance. The methodology was applied in nature, employing a non-experimental, cross-sectional design to establish a correlational relationship between the variables under consideration. The technique involved a survey of a sample of 75 university lecturers, using a questionnaire designed to assess both variables. The results obtained showed that there is a high positive correlation between the variables of teacher stress and emotional climate, with a Spearman's Rho value of 0.794, as detailed in Table 2, and a significance level 'p' < 0.05, which means that the null hypothesis is rejected.
