In 1895, innocent 20-year-old Angela is heading to northern Idaho for a job, accompanied by her ne'er-do-well father, Joseph. In Coeur d'Alene, Joseph steals a horse and wagon belonging to handsome, wealthy, and powerful Nate Erikson, but they are soon captured. Nate is mesmerized by the beautiful Angela, so when Joseph agrees to trade Angela for his freedom, Nate assumes Angela is a prostitute, unaware Joseph is her father.
