The restless Heart: “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is until it rests in you.

In a world drowning beneath noise, distraction, loneliness, and spiritual exhaustion, Robert drifts through modern life feeling increasingly hollow and restless, until a chance encounter with an Orthodox monk and the ancient Jesus Prayer begins an unexpected inward pilgrimage toward silence, repentance, and peace. Leaving behind the frantic emptiness of contemporary society, he journeys through remote monasteries, snowy mountain roads, and encounters with wounded souls, gradually discovering that the deepest human hunger cannot be satisfied by pleasure, ambition, technology, or escape, but only through communion with God. Deeply inspired by The Way of a Pilgrim and the teachings of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, The Restless Heart is a contemplative Orthodox spiritual novel about the hidden ache within every human being and the quiet transformation that begins when the soul finally learns to become still before Christ.
