Bol A fresh look at the fascinating myths surrounding the radical Rossetti generation and the unconventional relationships between Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Siddal, Fanny Cornforth and Jane Morris. The Rossettis’ approach to art, love and lifestyles are considered revolutionary. Explored by a range of short thematic essays containing fresh, and surprising, research — and accompanied by beautiful and iconic Pre-Raphaelite illustrations — this sublime monograph features artworks and writings by Dante Gabriel, Christina and Elizabeth (née Siddal), distinguishing the Rossettis from Victorian culture and foregrounding their countercultural roles. Originally published to accompany the first retrospective of of Dante Gabriel Rossetti at Tate and the largest exhibition of his iconic pictures in two decades — as well as the most comprehensive exhibition of Elizabeth Siddal’s work for over 30 years — The Rossettis features rare surviving watercolours and significant drawings in this must-have monograph.
