The Saga of Sarah Penny

Sarah Penny arrives by stage in Filmont from unknown parts. By coincidence, Stuttering Jake Trapper also arrives to buy supplies for a small mining camp south of Filmont. It so happened, Dan the gambler shows up the same day carrying five women who have lost their husbands and families due to the Civil War. When Jake tells Sarah there are 85 men and no women in the mining camp, Sarah comes up with a plan. Together with Dan and the women, she follows Jake to the tent city in search of her own treasure. Within a year the five women are married, Sarah builds a saloon, and the tent city becomes the simple little town of Simon, and Sarah becomes the richest person in town.However, not all stories are destined to continue happily ever after. Sarah's saloon introduces alcohol, gambling, and prostitution to Simon. This results in selfishness and betrayal plus a couple of murders. Eventually the pain of Sarah Penny's past, her refusal to admit her sins, and the inability to forgive comes back to haunt her.
