The Shadows Around Her

A Hunter's Past. A Young Woman's Desire. A Darkness Unleashed.Dakota Blackwood is a hunter of the paranormal, a man of quiet intensity whose life is defined by loss. When a fragile young choir drummer named Jennifer confesses to being tormented by a shadow that speaks of hidden desires, he recognizes the terrifying pattern of a case from his past-one that ended in tragedy. As Dakota guides Jennifer into the intimate, cloistered spaces of a dusty church library, he sees not just a victim, but a fierce, resilient light he failed to save before. He believes the entity feeds on shame, twisting innocence into perversion. To disarm it, he proposes a startling paradox: they must claim her desires, making her perceived weakness her greatest strength. But their intense, personal exorcism-forged in fire and sealed with a kiss-uncovers a truth far more dangerous than a demon. The shadow is a ghost, and the true monster is a living man from Jennifer's own traumatized past. Now, Dakota and Jennifer must risk everything, confronting not just a trapped spirit, but the possessive, violent killer still free to hunt.In the fight against Hell, they discovered that human connection is the brightest light-and the most tempting danger.
