The Shape of Unbecoming

At forty-three, Celia Reed has spent two decades building a life defined by precision - a high-powered actuarial career, a marriage stripped of intimacy, and a trauma she buried so deep it became invisible. When she trades her Chicago corner office for a visiting professorship at a remote Oregon college, she tells herself it's a professional reset. Nothing more. Then she meets Lien Gresham.Lien is guarded, brilliant, and carrying secrets of her own - a dead sister's stolen history, an inherited coastal inn hiding dark truths, and a grief she's never allowed herself to name. When a decades-old injustice surfaces in their small mountain town, Celia and Lien are drawn together by something neither of them planned for: a connection that dismantles every wall they've ever built. But falling for Lien means Celia must confront the parts of herself she's spent a lifetime calculating around - the desire she never examined, the identity she never claimed, and the terrifying possibility that the life she left behind was never really hers.Set against the misty forests and rugged coastline of Oregon, The Shape of Unbecoming is a luminous, slow-burn sapphic romance about shedding the life you were supposed to want and finding the courage to build one worth keeping.
