The Shepherd Showed Up When I Was Cleaning My House: 21 Lighthearted Devotions from Ordinary Household Moments

Did you ever think a devotional could make you laugh? While reading these 21 lighthearted devotions, you may find yourself laughing out loud-and recognizing a little of your own household along the way. In The Shepherd Showed Up When I Was Cleaning My House, Gayla Rogers discovers that God can teach some wonderful spiritual lessons in the most ordinary places. An overflowing laundry basket, an impossible fitted sheet, a dirty microwave, dusty baseboards, double-clean dishes, a stubborn appliance, and even an overstuffed trash can become unexpected reminders of grace, obedience, forgiveness, gratitude, surrender, and the faithfulness of God. Filled with personal stories, gentle humor, practical Christian encouragement, and King James Version Scripture, this book reminds us that time with the Lord doesn't always happen in a quiet chair with a Bible in our lap. Sometimes the Shepherd shows up right in the middle of the mess-with laundry at our feet, dishes in the sink, and a mop in our hand.
