"Omid", the sole survivor of the western population of Siberian cranes, journeyed alone to Iran for fifteen years following the passing of his mate, "Arezoo". Omid's fifteenth autumn migration to Iran occurred in 2022. In the autumn of 2023, Omid did not make his journey to Iran. In Persian Omid means hope. This play is a memory of hope, the story of women who do not give up. Ali Foumani, born in 1978, is a poet, writer, and theater director. He is suffering from a chronic and challenging illness that is named "hopefulness". Ali Foumani is a poet, writer, and theater director. Several of his plays have been staged by Iranian directors, though none of his works have been permitted for publication in Iran.Foumani has directed productions of his own plays as well as works by Anton Chekhov, Harold Pinter, Tennessee Williams, and Samuel Beckett in Iran, the UAE, Canada, and the United States. Alongside his writing and directing, he has been active in education for over two decades. In addition to designing curricula and teaching literature, social sciences, and performing arts, he has conducted dozens of courses and workshops for students, artists, and educators in Iran and abroad.
