The Sloth

Sally Hart was the best getaway driver the criminal underworld had ever seen-uncatchable, untraceable, and deadly behind the wheel. Twenty-five years ago, only one man managed to bring her down: Detective Jake Castillo. She traded her testimony for freedom, buried her past, and made the ultimate sacrifice-giving up the secret daughter no one could ever know existed. Now, her past has caught up to her. When her old crew resurfaces, they kidnap both Sally and the daughter she spent a lifetime protecting from afar. Desperate and with nowhere else to turn, Sally goes to the only man she trusts to help her: the retired cop who arrested her a quarter-century ago. Both grieving the loss of their spouses, Sally and Jake are thrown into a high-octane race against time. Forced to rely on each other in the face of absolute danger, the old lines between cop and criminal begin to blur, sparking an unexpected, burning attraction. Can they outrun a ruthless crew to save her daughter, or will the secrets of the past destroy them both?
