The Small Spiral Seashell

The Small Spiral Seashell is a children's story for readers 4-9 years old, and for anyone else who finds joy and inspiration in the words and beautiful illustrations. The illustrations are original watercolor transferred to digital format for the file, and each page brings the story to life in full color and whimsy. The themes on each page will resonate with children of every age, and anyone else who reads this story.A tiny broken seashell sits alone on the shore, passed over for years by every curious hand. But when a gentle-hearted child picks it up and shows his Mom, the shell's hidden colors shimmer to life. Together they discover that what once seemed flawed is actually wonderfully unique - a reminder that true beauty often waits quietly inside, just hoping someone will take a closer look.In today's world we are constantly told how to look, how to think, and how to act by media, influencers, and peers. This puts so much pressure on young children to be something they are not, to feel "lesser than" and to wonder why they are not "perfect". The lengths that children go to to fit in, or to not be bullied, or to be accepted by those that do not appreciate each other just the way they are can be heartbreaking and dangerous. Also, there are so many children in foster homes or orphanages, that wonder why they are not wanted. This story speaks to those insecurities, and brings hope to those who understand that beauty is found on the inside.
