The Smith: What God Makes of a Person When He Is Serious About Building

Some fires are punishment. This one is preparation. The Smith: What God Makes of a Person When He Is Serious About What He Is Building is a book about what God does with a person when He decides to build something that will last. Not a devotional. Not a motivational speech. A walk through ten biblical lives - Moses, Abraham, Joseph, Elijah, Peter, David, Samson, Job, Paul, and Jesus - each one placed in the forge, each one hammered into something the heat alone could not have produced. You will recognize yourself in these stories. The exhaustion. The unanswered prayer. The blow you didn't see coming. The long silence between what God promised and what you can actually see. This Christian faith book does not explain suffering away. It explains what suffering is for.For readers of A.W. Tozer, Charles Spurgeon, and anyone who has ever stood in a fire they did not choose and needed to know it was not wasted. The Smith knows exactly what He is making. And He does not waste a single blow of the hammer.
