The Snarth Goes to School

Katrina Mann is nervous about starting third grade in a new school ... especially since her family includes the Snarth, an exuberant creature with prehistoric connections and a long list of old friends, including King Tut, Galileo, and Marie Antoinette. The Snarth passionately wants to go to school with Katrina and sneaks into her classroom. It soon shares its enthusiasm for learning with Katrina's classmates and becomes popular as a volunteer history teacher and simultaneously endears itself to the school staff with little surprise gestures of kindness. Everyone's happy with the arrangement until the school's strict, humorless principal, Mr. Flatt, catches the Snarth and attempts to expel it forever. Then Mr. Flatt discovers that he and the Snarth have a mutual friend with legendary principles of tolerance and humanity. The principal has a change of heart, and the Snarth finally wins the right to go to school.
