The Song We Never Finished: Sweethearts Left Behind

## **The Song We Never Finished** Twenty-five years ago, Shannon left her hometown with a broken heart, a suitcase full of dreams, and one memory she could never quite bury: Kenny, the boy she loved before life became complicated. Now she's back home to take care of her father, and the last thing she expects is to walk into a smoky little dive bar and find Kenny onstage, guitar in hand, singing the songs of their youth. He recognizes her instantly. She recognizes the look in his eyes. And when Shannon requests the song that once belonged to them, something happens that neither of them is prepared for. She joins him onstage, their voices blending the way they once did, and suddenly twenty-five years disappear. The boy she remembers is gone. In his place is a confident, rugged man with a crooked smile, a lifetime of stories, and a voice that still has the power to make her heart race. Kenny never forgot Shannon. He simply learned how to live without her. But now she's standing in front of him again, older, wiser, and every bit as irresistible as the girl he once loved. And the attraction between them isn't just a memory. It's hotter, deeper, and far more dangerous because this time they both know exactly what they're feeling. One late-night conversation becomes another. A shared laugh becomes a lingering touch. An old song becomes a kiss neither of them can stop. And soon they're discovering that twenty-five years haven't erased the chemistry between them. If anything, all those years apart have given it time to burn hotter. But Shannon didn't come home to fall in love again. She came home for her father, with a life waiting for her somewhere else. Kenny has spent half his life wondering what might have happened if she had stayed. Now they have one chance to find out. Because some first loves fade. Some become beautiful memories. And some are simply unfinished songs, waiting twenty-five years for someone to finally play the last verse.
