The poems in Rostislav Dizhur's book are inspired by the pain of current events, the author's personal connection to these issues, and his understanding of the severity of humanity's spiritual illness. The poems reflect the realities of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and events in Russia, the U.S., and around the world in the three and a half years since the war began.The poems' themes and messages are diverse, ranging from direct condemnation of aggression, tyranny, and the dictator to discussion of ironic, curious, serious, and paradoxical thoughts; references to history; probing questions; and allegories.
