The main task of the present work has been to arrange extant references to Jean-Louis Drouin and his wife Marie-Louise Dufour dit Latour and their descendants in the time period 1737-1804 in chronological order. As a secondary goal, explanatory notes and in some cases, extensive quotations from secondary sources have been included in an attempt to elucidate the meaning of what is written in the parish registers, deed books, and numerous loose pieces of paper of all sorts that constitute the historical record. The book is provided with images of original documents, maps, and tables.
