The Sting of Death

When Karen Slocombe's cousin Penn pays her a visit, she is looking for help with the disappearance of Justine, another cousin. Drew Slocombe's reputation for unraveling mysteries is widespread and Penn hopes he and Karen can be of assistance, as Justine's mother Roma, an avid beekeeper, seems unconcerned at her daughter's disappearance. Drew and his business partner Maggs have little enthusiasm for the investigation until they encounter Detective Sergeant Den Cooper, when feelings become considerably stronger. The realization that a small child is missing escalates the sense of urgency for all concerned.
