the Stone Abyss: Chronicles of Lost Wizard: Part One

Within the ruined city of Vorreth lies a dungeon that has swallowed a hundred companies of the hopeful and the desperate, and given almost nothing back. Alderic Veyl, the Lion of Carenthos, is in search of his oldest friend. Perethilla carries a bow grown from a tree that chose her for reasons she has never fully understood. Caedo wants only to be useful, to somebody, before his music stops mattering. And Lee has crossed half the world to buy his family's life back with gold that was never his to take. None of them are going down into the dark beneath Vorreth for exactly the same reason. All of them will pay the same price for going. The company that descends will not be the company that returns, if any of it returns at all. The Stone Abyss is a dark, character-driven epic fantasy about debts that were never really yours, prophecies that cost more than they promise, and the particular kind of hope that survives, barely, at the bottom of a very deep hole. Readers who want their fantasy grim, their stakes real, and their outcomes genuinely uncertain will feel right at home. Contains graphic violence, strong language, and other content intended for mature readers.
