the Story of Champions Round Table

Though King Arthur sits upon the throne of Camelot, the glory of his reign is forged by the hands of his champions. In this second volume of his legendary Arthurian cycle, Howard Pyle brings to life the storied adventures of the three greatest knights to ever grace the Round Table: the peerless Sir Launcelot of the Lake, the noble Sir Tristram of Lyonesse, and the humble Sir Percival of Gales.Follow Sir Launcelot as he proves his matchless prowess in the face of treachery and enchantment. Witness the tragic and beautiful devotion of Sir Tristram, whose courage is rivaled only by his honor. And journey with the young, innocent Sir Percival as he transforms from a wild youth of the forest into a knight of such transparent soul that he alone may glimpse the mysteries of the Sangreal.Illustrated with Howard Pyle's signature, intricate artwork, these tales are more than mere chronicles of battle; they are deep explorations of the character and spirit required to live a life of true chivalry. Readers are invited to rediscover a world where the strength of one's arm is secondary only to the integrity of one's word. The Story of the Champions of the Round Table is part of a complete collection of Howard Pyle's legendary works, now available in a matching set from Living Book Press.
