The 27 large miniatures which illustrate the book are the work of Jan de Tavernier, an artist from the Burgundian Netherlands who worked in Tournai, Ghent and Oudenaarde.nThis work is unique because the original binding of the manuscript, signed Anthonious van Gavere, has been preserved.
