A forgotten promise. A long-lost love. A journey across Oz in search of a past the Tin Woodman thought he had left behind. When the wandering boy Woot asks the Tin Woodman what became of Nimmie Amee, the young woman he once intended to marry, the question awakens an old sense of duty. Accompanied by Woot and his faithful friend the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman sets out to find her. Their journey carries them through strange corners of Oz, where they encounter the peculiar Loons of Loonville, the dangerous giantess Mrs. Yoop, quarrelsome dragons, magical transformations, and Polychrome, the beautiful Daughter of the Rainbow.Yet the greatest surprises concern the Tin Woodman's own past. His search leads to another man of tin, startling revelations about the body he lost long ago, and an unexpected answer to the mystery of Nimmie Amee. Filled with humour, enchantment, unusual creatures, and imaginative twists, L. Frank Baum's The Tin Woodman of Oz is a delightful adventure about friendship, love, identity, and discovering that the past may not have waited for us exactly as we remember it.
