the Tower That Touched Sky: A Story About Asking Right Questions Before It's Too Late

Victor Was Sure His Tower Would Stand ForeverVictor is the city of Aurum's most celebrated architect. His designs sit in every skyline. When he reveals his next project - a tower so slender it looks like a needle pointing at the sky - the council applauds. The engineers do not. They ask about the foundation. They bring soil samples. Victor waves them off. Then comes opening day. Then comes the rumble. Then comes the long silence that follows. This is a quietly powerful picture book about a successful man who learns the hardest lesson of his life - that the people he dismissed had something he needed. Older readers will recognize the courage it takes to go back to the room you walked out of, sit down, and ask the questions you should have asked the first time.Perfect for: classroom conversations about humility, STEM ethics, ego and listening, second-chance stories, ages 5 to 9.From the Eva Gallo Collection.
