Bol For struggling actor and full¿time tiki nerd Gilley Martin, the bit role seemed perfect: bartender in a biopic about Don the Beachcomber. Then the majestic tiki statue-an artifact with a past of its own-decided to get involved. What follows is a slightly shaken romp through the early days of the tiki craze and the half¿hidden stories that shaped his family generations ago, some of them thanks to Gilley himself. A time¿bending, twisty tale about memory, myth, and the fine art of winging it, The Trouble with Tiki is for readers who appreciate a comedic adventure with heart and a spark of mischief.
