Grab your decks, gather your partners, and let the Super Samba fun begin! If you've ever sat down at a Super Samba table feeling like everyone else knows something you don't, this is the book you've been waiting for. Jennifer Jackson-Strage has written what is essentially the definitive guide to a game that, until now, existed almost entirely through word of mouth and table-to-table variation. What makes this guide exceptional is its clarity. Complex concepts - from the nuances of Picking The Pack to the strategy behind Safe Discards - are explained in plain language without ever feeling dumbed down. The logical progression from core elements through advanced strategy means both complete beginners and experienced Samba players will find exactly what they need. The chapter on discarding alone is worth the price of the book. The insight that every card played - or deliberately not played - sends a signal is the kind of strategic thinking that separates good players from great ones, and Jackson-Strage communicates it with the authority of someone who has spent a lot of time at the table. The reference tools, comparison charts, and letters to Canasta and Samba players are genuinely useful additions that show real consideration for the reader.Warm, practical, and occasionally funny - this reads like advice from the best player at your table, not a rulebook.
