THE UNDESCRIBABLE

Most things cannot be described.That is not a poetic claim. It is a mathematical fact.There are far more infinite sequences of zeros and ones than there are finite descriptions that could ever name them. Most real numbers have no formula, no algorithm, no short rule that generates their digits. Most strings of any length are incompressible: the shortest program that produces them is essentially as long as the string itself. Possibility is cheap.
